Its duties are:
• to organize lawyers for intensive study
in maritime law, international
conventions, shipping practice and customary
practice in order to reflect new
development, research for new problems
and reinforce the exchange and
dissemination of maritime law.
• to hold training sessions and workshops
for exchange of experiences, improve
lawyers professional quality and play
active role in promoting maritime
transportation, economic trade, maritime
insurance and other related areas.
• to direct maritime laws in litigation
activities, draft professional rules, provide
professional guidance, solve complicated
and difficult theoretical problems
during practice and develop various
forms of high level legal service
in maritime law practice.
• to participate in research, draft,
revision, consult and argument over
plans of shipping legislation, forward
proposals or report to government authorities
on issues covering maritime
legislation, justice and administration.
• to organize lawyers to collect, sort out
and translate maritime laws, cases and
information of both China and abroad
and develop exchanges and cooperation
with other countries, regions and

Founded on Oct.9,
2001, the committee
now has 31
members, among
them one Chair and
2 Vice Chairs.
Its aim is to unite
lawyers nationwide
who are planning to devote themselves to environmental
and resource law, endeavor to
widen the market in environmental and resources
law, provide the society with
comprehensive, multi-level, overall and foreseeable
legal service, and enable lawyers to
play their role in the state strategy of sustainable
development.
Its duties are:
• to carry out professional approaches on
theory of environmental and resources
law, organize practical exchanges, hold
training sessions, sort out professional
materials, compile and publicize collected
works, draw up professional
regulations in this field and provide
professional guidance.
• to carry out investigation and study in
formulation and enforcement of environmental
and resource policies and
laws, to present advisory opinions
about legislation and amendments from
professional perspective.
• to assist in the enforcement of national
cleaning-production and environment
protection policy, organize lawyers
working as legal councilors for enterprises
to provide legal service on attracting
foreign investment, technol
o g i c a l t r a n s f o r m a t i o n a n d
management, urge Chinese enterprises
to develop themselves by means of
Circling-Economy as many foreign enterprises
do.
• to organize lawyers to deal with foreign
affairs as environmental lawyers
to defend the environmental rights of
individuals and enterprises.
